HOW WE APPROACH ORANGE COUNTY PROJECTS
Most clients come to us with a specific deliverable in mind -- a listing film, a recruiting video, an Amazon product reel -- and we scope and price those exactly. Some clients want to think through the right video format before committing, and that's a conversation we're comfortable having first. Either way, the production process follows the same structure: a short pre-production discovery phase where we nail down the audience, the message, and any logistical requirements; a shoot day or half-day timed around the best light and the client's schedule; and an edit delivered in five to seven business days standard.
Orange County's geography means we deal with a few consistent shoot-day variables: coastal wind affects drone stability especially in the afternoon, marine layer in the morning affects light quality and aerial visibility in beach cities, and peak traffic on the 405 and 73 affects crew call times for inland shoots. We factor all of this in when we schedule.
WHY EQUIPMENT AND CERTIFICATION MATTER
The gap between consumer video gear and professional cinema cameras is wider than most clients expect. Professional cameras like the RED and ARRI systems we use have significantly more dynamic range, much better color science, and the optical characteristics of professional cinema lenses -- all of which translate directly into how finished video looks when it's color graded. For clients whose video is competing against other professionally produced content, this difference is the difference between looking like a peer and looking like an afterthought.
The same principle applies to drone work: FAA Part 107 certification is the legal requirement for commercial aerial work, and it also means our pilots understand airspace rules, carry commercial insurance, and can get authorized access to controlled airspace around John Wayne Airport when a shoot location requires it.
