Video Production Pricing in Orange County — What to Expect

The most common question we get before a production quote is "what does a video cost?" The most honest answer is: it depends. The second most honest answer is that most Orange County businesses significantly underestimate what professional video production costs — and significantly overestimate what they will get from a budget-priced option.

This page exists to give you a realistic framework for what video production costs in the Orange County market, what drives prices up and down, and what you should expect to receive at different investment levels. We would rather you understand this before we talk than have a number conversation mid-project.

Realistic Price Ranges for Orange County Video

These are ranges, not quotes. Every project is different. These numbers reflect the market reality for professional, cinema-grade production — not budget options.

Simple interview or talking-head video: $3,000 – $6,000. Single location, 1 shoot day, basic lighting, clean edit, color correction included. No motion graphics, no drone, minimal b-roll. Appropriate for a solo thought leadership piece or a simple testimonial.

Corporate overview or brand introduction: $8,000 – $18,000. 1–2 shoot days, multiple locations or setups, b-roll, music licensing, full color grade, possible animation or motion graphics elements, multiple delivery formats. This is the most common corporate production range.

Full brand film or commercial: $18,000 – $40,000+. 2–4 shoot days, hired talent possible, complex multi-location production, full post-production package including animation and sound design, multiple cuts for different platforms. Television commercial production and high-end brand film campaigns fall in this range.

Case study or testimonial film: $5,000 – $12,000. Per client story. Includes interview day, b-roll at client site or product location, full edit, color, and delivery in multiple formats.

Drone or aerial package added to any production: $1,500 – $3,500 addition. FAA Part 107 authorized, in-house drone fleet, full edit integration. Pricing depends on locations and airspace complexity.

What Drives the Cost of Video Production

Five primary factors determine the cost of a video production:

Production days: How many days of filming does the project require? A single-location, single-day interview is fundamentally less expensive than a multi-day, multi-location brand campaign. This is the biggest single cost driver.

Crew size: A talking-head interview on a plain background might require two people. A commercial with talent, lighting setups, and a multicamera configuration might require eight to ten. Crew day rates multiply quickly.

Equipment requirements: Not every project needs a RED camera and a full lighting package. Not every project requires drone. Matching the equipment to the actual production requirements — rather than defaulting to maximum or minimum — is part of the planning process.

Post-production scope: Editing, color grading, sound design, motion graphics, voiceover, music licensing, and revisions are all separate cost centers. A heavily post-produced piece with animation and a licensed music track costs more in post than a clean edit with natural audio.

Talent and locations: Actors, voiceover artists, and paid locations (studios, permitted outdoor locations) add cost. Productions using real employees and real environments at your facility cost less than productions requiring hired talent or rented sets.

What You Are Not Getting at Budget Price Points

There is a segment of the market offering video production in the $500–$2,500 range. For very specific use cases — a simple talking-head testimonial, a short social media clip with minimal production value — this can be appropriate.

For anything representing your company in a significant context — a website hero, an investor presentation, a sales enablement tool, a brand campaign — budget production consistently produces content that signals lower quality than the organization it represents. The camera, the lighting, the color grade, and the direction all tell the viewer something about you before a word is spoken.

Professional production is an investment with a measurable return. Budget production is an expense that compounds — every time a prospect watches it, it works against you.
